Holidays in rural Cornwall
Welcome to Cusgarne Manor
An award-winning B&B and cosy self-catering cottages in the heart of rural Cornwall.
The Manor is a beautiful and historic Grade II* listed farmhouse which has undergone complete restoration and has been open as a B&B since August 2021. We focus on giving our guests a great sleep and a wonderful breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere.
We’ve recently added some self-catering cottages. Each one is unique and carefully styled. They are appointed to the same standard as the B&B to ensure the most comfortable stay and are well-equipped with everything you need.
This is an adults-only place overlooking a wooded valley and guests have exclusive access to our 13-acre nature reserve. The cottages are all dog-friendly and our newest one, Lowenna, is designed with disabled people in mind including wheelchair users.
With rolling farmland to the south and fascinating mining heritage to the north, Cusgarne Manor is the perfect base for exploring the whole of Cornwall as we’re mid-way between the coasts and only 3 miles from the A30.

From the doorstep
Cusgarne Manor is surrounded by leafy lanes which are perfect for walking, off-road biking and horse riding. Local countryside routes can incorporate local pubs or old mining landscapes. We’re also close to the coast-to-coast trail between Devoran and Portreath with bike hire available from Bissoe. Wheal Maid, home of mountain bike competitions, is just over the hill and a more challenging route west will find you at the rocky top of Carn Marth where you’re rewarded by panoramic views of both coasts.

The coasts
The north and south coasts are so very different and Cusgarne gives you the choice of both. Only a few miles to the north are the rugged Atlantic cliffs and the surfing beaches of Porthreath, Porthtowan, Chapel Porth, Trevaunance and Perranporth. A few miles south finds you at the calm waters of the Carrick Roads and Helford River and a quick trip on the King Harry Ferry takes you to the beautiful Roseland Peninsula.

Towns to visit
Some of Cornwall’s prettiest harbour towns are nearby. Falmouth is always a favourite especially for the Sea Shanty and Oyster Festivals and the National Maritime Museum. Ferries from Falmouth take you across to the pretty village of Flushing or to St Mawes on the Roseland. Porthleven is also well worth a visit especially for it’s excellent selection of restaurants. The city of Truro is also nearby with its impressive cathedral and fabulous farmers’ markets.

Gardens
Cornwall is well-endowed with stunning gardens. In addition to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project there are many much closer to Cusgarne. The National Trust’s Trelissick is set in over 300 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland with lovely walks and stunning views of the Carrick Roads estuary. Trebah, a sub-tropical ravine filled with rhododendrons, magnolias and camellias on the Helford River, is another must-see. We also have the lovely Enys nearby.
